5 Month Bunion Video Update

This video shows the progress of my foot from pre-surgery to today. I am about 75% healed, and find myself trotting up stairs, on my feet for long periods of time, and not feeling too much discomfort. Still some tightness when I go up on the balls of my foot. And still some minor swelling when I wear non-tennis shoes. I am feeling pretty confident that my foot is much better than it was before surgery and I am so thankful to Dr. Briskin of the University Foot and Ankle Institute for making it all happen!!!

Turn up your volume and enjoy!! The music is the best part...trust me.

(Note: I would let the video buffer completely before playing - otherwise the music and images may not match up like they're supposed to..)

EDIT: Originally I posted this as my 6 month update but it had only been 5 months...easy to lose count!

Wearing the right kind of shoes is very important. Go roomy and comfortable. Pick shoes that have a wide toe and skip those with high heels or pointed toes. Also, spending long periods of time on your feet can aggravate the symptoms of bunions. I use SmartToes Toe Stretchers for bunion treatment and hammer toe treatment. The unique design helps straighten and align your toes and feet and provide relief for bunion and hammer toe.

  2. Thanks for the comment! I tried Smart Toes and they were too big for my feet. I haven't found a brand of those with sizing. I don't think I will be able to completely give up a small heel for dressing up but I am definitely working on finding more comfortable shoes for every day!
