Sweet Spring

I want this read at my wedding...a poem by e.e. cummings

sweet spring is your
time is my time is our
time for springtime is lovetime
and viva sweet love

(all the merry little birds are
flying in the floating in the
very spirits singing in
are winging in the blossoming)

lovers go and lovers come
awandering awondering
but any two are perfectly
alone there's nobody else alive

(such a sky and such a sun
i never knew and neither did you
and everybody never breathed
quite so many kinds of yes)

not a tree can count his leaves
each herself by opening
but shining who by thousands mean
only one amazing thing

(secretly adoring shyly
tiny winging darting floating
merry in the blossoming
always joyful selves are singing)

sweet spring is your
time is my time is our
time for springtime is lovetime
and viva sweet love

Love wedding planning, hate making decisions!

I have added some venues to my list and narrowed it down to the following places:

I am going to Helya's in Long Beach this weekend to try some dresses that she and my mom ordered for me from J.Crew.

Next weekend my mom will be in town to help me choose the venue, and then we're going to HOLLYWOOD! to the Nicole Miller store to try some more dresses. I am so excited for her to finally be here and see what I've been looking at the past couple of months!

I found a great photographer at the Bridal Show a couple weeks ago. They are a cute married couple with great photos and reasonable prices. I can't believe some photographers want to charge like $8,000 for wedding coverage. That's insane! Here's the photographer's website Applemoon Photography and their blog . We have a meeting with them this Thursday to talk about what we want and to set up the engagement shoot in the next few months.

So, wish me luck with the dresses, but more importantly the VENUE! Depending on the dates the venue has booked already, I am hoping the wedding date will be May 22, 2010!

I wish I had a swimming pool

I wish I had a swimming pool not only because it was 90 degrees outside yesterday, but because in the middle of the show Bloc Party asked that anyone with a pool meet them backstage so they could come over and have a pool party!! How freaking awesome would that have been to hang out all night with Bloc Party!?

So yeah, last night Steve and I went to see Bloc Party, an indie band from London, play at the SLO Vets Hall. The best part of the show was when the lead singer, Kele Okereke, went crowd surfing, then popped up in the back of the room, all the while singing and smiling like it was the best day of his life. It was pretty cool seeing such a such a popular band play at a teeny venue and act like it was better than their bigger gigs. I really like bands who are grounded and don't act like they are god's gift to the world. Bloc Party loves what they do, and are proud to share their music with people who just want to dance!!

I should have been a florist...

I think my favorite thing about wedding planning so far is looking at beautiul floral arrangements. I am obsessed with these gorgeous bouquets and centerpieces and have been inspired by them. I realized that I am in love with ranunculas in all colors and definitely want succulents intermingled with all of my flowers. I really like the arrrangements with green and bright orange, but I also like the soft pinks, sherbert and cream colors as well. There's so much to choose from!!

Love these ranunculas
and these orange ones mixed with succulents

and all of the colorful ranunculas!

These colors are soft and elegant

Bridal Show

Who wants to (and can!) come with me to the Bridal Show in SLO at the Madonna Expo Center this Sunday at noon?! I'm going no matter what, but i'm sure it will be easier (and more fun) with a little helper! The next one isn't until October :(

Mom - damn those plane ticket prices!!!! Hopefully the end of the month works out better! Love you!
